Somatic movement is all about slowing down and moving with intention and awareness, which is why it so beautifully supports pelvic floor connection. The benefits are nervous system regulation, less tension, less stress, increased endorphins, improved healing and overall body awareness. For some, this type of movement can be challenging because it doesn’t “feel” like a workout. I get that, however with practice, it often begins to feel not only necessary but enjoyable. I suggest sprinkling in somatic movements like these to ease into the practice. Feel and experience what your whole body (mind, body, spirit) is drawn to and how it supports you. It’s an individual experience always.
